scottish festival
Williamsburg, VA Sept. 25

People were talking about their "crests" and mom said I am a crest too, but she can't find a way to keep me on her hat.

We were at the 27th annual Williamsburg Scottish Festival.

Picture to the left is my view of the parade. Good manners prevented me from looking up.

I learned there really is a pinkish tartan, and my mom promised I could have one.

A cultural exchange -- Scottie to Chinese Crested. Notice the Scottie is eyeing his escape route.

My new friend Virginia. I think she is a princess.

Here's our nice next door neighbor (at the campground). He plays the drum and cooks things that smell delicious.

These men played some very nice music with very fast bagpipes. I wish I had thumbs so I could get lessons.

Jenifer McDonald played the part of Margaret Shirley when she explained the history of greyhounds. Her wonderful group helps find homes for retired racing greyhounds. www.greyrescue.com or

PS, If you find yourself within 500 miles of Cosby, TN, be sure to stop by the House of Douglas bakery and get some eccles cakes.
